Performance Review:

The goal of a performance review should be to increase communication, establish clear expectations, reinforce good performance while improving unsatisfactory performance, and foster a spirit of cooperation and teamwork. From a supervisor’s point of view, it is also an opportunity to document specific criteria for salary increases, promotions or disciplinary actions. It also involves setting goals with a plan of action for the next period. In some companies, the employee review includes assessments from the employee’s supervisor, peers, subordinates and customers as well as a self assessment. Performance reviews may be conducted as often as every three to six months, but annual reviews are more prevalent.
