Jesse Harriott, Ph.D.

Jesse Harriott is the Vice President of Research for Monster Worldwide. During his tenure, he has helped drive Monster’s annual revenue from $300M in 2002 to over $1B in 2006. Dr. Harriott built Monster Intelligence, the research division at Monster focused on the Human Capital marketplace and has grown the division into Monster Insights, the company’s international research arm. Monster Insights provides groundbreaking information and custom market analysis to help Monster customers make informed decisions about today’s most pressing human capital issues. Dr. Harriott also pioneered the creation of the Monster Employment Index, the first measure of online recruitment activity – now tracked in the US and Europe and followed by millions of people each month, including many government agencies. He is the author of the book, Finding Keepers, discussing the challenges faced in today’s talent markets and providing best practices to attract, acquire and advance talent in global business (Pogorzelski & Harriott, McGraw Hill, 2008). Before Monster, Dr. Harriott was the Director of Market Research & Consulting for Gomez, Inc. where he led divisions that accounted for 60% of Gomez revenue. Prior to joining Gomez, Dr. Harriott was founder and President of IMA, Inc, a first-of-breed Internet research company, as well as the Director of Research Consulting for public relations firm, Lipman Hearne. He has also taught Internet Marketing and Marketing Research courses at the University of Chicago, National-Louis University and Depaul University. Dr. Harriott holds an M.A. and a Ph.D. in Experimental Psychology from DePaul University. He has appeared in various media outlets including CNBC, The Wall Street Journal, New York Times, CBS radio, Bloomberg and Reuters.
