Eric L. Lesser

Eric Lesser is an Associate Partner with IBM’s Institute for Business Value, where he leads IBM Global Business Services’ research and thought leadership in the area of human capital management. His research and consulting has focused on a variety of issues, including workforce and talent management, knowledge management and collaboration, and the changing role of the HR organization.Previously, Mr. Lesser led the Knowledge and Organizational Performance Forum, an IBM-sponsored consortium focused on knowledge and collaboration topics. In this role, Mr. Lesser managed multi-client studies on knowledge strategy, communities of practice, knowledge retention and customer knowledge issues. As a consultant, he has worked with clients in the financial services, legal, technology and government sectors on a number of knowledge and organization change issues. Mr. Lesser speaks frequently on a range of human capital topics and has most recently edited (with Laurence Prusak) Creating Value with Knowledge: Insights from the IBM Institute for Business Value, published by Oxford University Press in 2003.
He has been quoted in a number of publications including the Wall Street Journal, BusinessWeek, Financial Times, Australian Financial Review, Washington Business Journal, Chicago Tribune, Atlanta Business Chronicle, Chief Learning Officer, Government Executive, and Training.
