SAN MATEO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 1, 2008--SuccessFactors, Inc. (Nasdaq:SFSF), the global leader in on-demand performance and talent management solutions, today announced that Kirby Risk, a supplier of electrical products and services, has implemented SuccessFactors' mid-market offering, SuccessPractices, to automate and customize the company's people-focused initiatives. To revolutionize its workforce, Kirby Risk has adopted the entire SuccessPractices suite, which includes applications for managing performance, goal alignment, career development and planning, compensation, and succession planning. The company also worked with SuccessFactors' Professional Services team to develop a custom application as part of its Performance Improvement Plan for advanced employee development.
Before turning on SuccessFactors, Kirby Risk used manual paper-based processes to compile and maintain their performance management plans, which proved overly labor-intensive and inefficient. Kirby Risk has now automated their people performance processes with a complete performance view of each employee. Designed for enterprises of all sizes - small, mid, and large - SuccessPractices is a set of pre-configured applications that help companies enjoy early successes in their performance and talent management initiatives with best practices gathered from hundreds of deployments. These rapidly-deployable solutions enable organizations to drive performance by linking individual contributors to corporate strategy, pay to performance, recognition of skills, and development to specific needs. The web-based, software-as-a-service technology model enables organizations across all industries to cost-effectively implement the technology without the need for extensive IT support.
Kirby Risk solves a number of pain points by leveraging the entire package of SuccessPractices offerings, including:
-- Performance reviews: Kirby Risk sought to increase employee
engagement and enhance the feedback delivered to employees. By
leveraging SuccessPractices' "Writing Assistant" feature,
managers who are not skilled writers are aided in developing
accurate and effective phrasing for evaluating performance and
communicating with their direct reports. With
SuccessPractices, Kirby Risk can tailor feedback to match
content directly from their corporate handbook and guidelines,
allowing managers to measure and rate employee performance
against pre-identified and familiar behavior metrics.
-- Succession planning: SuccessPractices enables Kirby Risk to
gain better visibility into the talent pool and identify
employee strengths and talent gaps. Using this data,
management can prepare employees for new positions and ensure
the company has the bench strength they need to stay
successful.
-- Compensation planning: SuccessPractices gives managers at
Kirby Risk access to employee compensation history in
real-time. It also enables managers to optimize compensation
decisions and tie financial rewards directly to employee
performance and business results - all within restrictions
defined in the system by Kirby Risk.
"The automation that SuccessFactors brings to Kirby Risk has taken our employee performance management to a new level, engaging all our employees and managers in the process. SuccessFactors is moving our entire organization ahead of plan for our HR vision," said Doug Gutridge, vice president of Human Resources for Kirby Risk. "The SuccessFactors team was incredibly responsive and accommodating in working with Kirby Risk to meet our specific requests, and we're excited to explore additional functionalities such as 360 reviews, reports and dashboards as we continue to expand our relationship with SuccessFactors."
"Mid-market companies have virtually identical pain points as their enterprise counterparts, yet sometimes lack the internal IT and HR bandwidth or expertise to quickly put strong performance and talent management processes in place. Kirby Risk is a prime example of how companies of any size can benefit from SuccessPractices," said Paul Albright, general manager, SMB and CMO, SuccessFactors. "In adhering to our vision of making people and companies massively more productive, we're committed to providing solutions that are flexible to implement and translate into immediate benefits."
