What I like to do outside of work:
I enjoy spending time with my wife Kira and 2 year old boy Tyler. My favorite hobby is Sports Memorabilia collecting. I've been a collector since high school when I founded my own company selling sports cards at trading card conventions throughout the East Coast. I'm looking forward to introducing my son to the hobby.
Q: Where in your background did you learn the most?
A: I look at my career as a series of learnings allowing for increased leadership in the field of enterprise software. In college, I learned about systems design, programming, and software implementation which I quickly put into action implementing SAP for clients around the world (while at Accenture) in the early 90's. I then broadened by understanding of how enterprise software can impact businesses while advising client leaders at McKinsey, and through my focus on entrepreneurship and technology while getting my MBA at Harvard. Seeking to learn what it takes to build, market, and sell enterprise software I moved to Silicon Valley and helped launch a new application suite at Siebel Systems. Most recently, I learned what it takes to build a business from the ground up at SuccessFactors by contributing to the acceleration of our success since early 2004.
Q: If you could meet one person in history, who would you meet and why?
A: I'm more interested in meeting people that will create history in the future. Who will be the leaders and visionaries that take us past the industrial and information battles through a true knowledge revolution? Who knows - maybe even I will have a chance to play a role.
Q: What's been your biggest surprise during your time at SuccessFactors?
A: The power of sheer determination and relentless execution above all else, in helping accelerate a company's growth.
Q: If you had 20 seconds to tell a new client about why they should use SuccessFactors, what would you say?
A: If you are seeking a partner to help you truly make sense and give purpose to what every employee at your company is doing every day, look no further.
Q: Why do you believe in the promise of Performance & Talent Management?
A: Utilizing information technology to help leverage the performance and potential of human capital is one of the greatest opportunities still in its infancy.
Q: Do you have a story or memory of how P&TM has helped you in your career?
A: My most recent performance review by our CEO resulting in my promotion to Vice President of Product Marketing is my most recent memory. Technology was an enabler; along with a deep understanding of my strengths, weaknesses, exhibited performance, and anticipated potential for the company.
Q: Why are you proud to work at SuccessFactors?
A: We're on a mission to deeply impact the lives of working people around the globe.
