What I like to do outside of work:
I coach my three sons' youth sports teams, play basketball, work out at the gym, and do home improvement projects.

Q: Where in your background did you learn the most?
A: Definitely at GE. My years at such an amazing company taught me the foundations of pragmatic strategic HR. I learned how to be a leader no matter where you sit in the hierarchy, how to build great processes and execute flawlessly, and most importantly, how impactful an organization's people resources can be to delivering unparalleled results and building a sustainable, strong, healthy culture.

Q: If you could meet one person in history, who would you meet and why?
A: My first answer would have been Jack Welch, but I was lucky enough to meet him and see him in action while at GE. A close second is Karl Marx. This may sound like an odd choice but his fascination with people and sincere concern for how they are treated and rewarded in relation to their contributions always fascinated me. I may not agree with all of his philosophy or predictions, but he did recognize that work plays a critical role in our sense of self and has a profound impact on our social fabric and personal lives by influencing how well we fit into the economic models and political systems we experience.

Q: What's been your biggest surprise during your time at SuccessFactors?
A: I have been most impressed with the drive, energy, and enthusiasm that everyone at SFSF has for the mission of creating something truly special for our customers and the people who work for them. It is a deeply held core belief that the right platform and tools can fully unlock the potential of people in a way that has not yet been fully realized. The SFSF group of people, not only thinks this, but knows they will be the ones to make this a reality.

Q: If you had 20 seconds to tell a new client about why they should use SuccessFactors, what would you say?
A: Unleashing the power of your human capital is the last frontier for organizations to achieve. I have personally used and experienced the impact the right platform and tools can have in making this a reality. SuccessFactors is the choice for those who are serious about people and organizational performance.

Q: Why are you proud to work at SuccessFactors?
A: I am proud of the core values that resonate from this place. This is not a HQ thing. It is a transnational phenomenon that starts in the field with our fantastic commercial teams who directly touch our customers. People are our brand. It is what we do. The sincere and relentless desire to improve and do everything we can to enable our employees to achieve our company aspirations provides a unique and inspiring mission unlike any other.
